Southgate Tower to Rise Soon

Alphaland is embarking on a new venture, which is the Mall industry. I think its initial project is the Southgate Tower that will rise soon on the corner of Pasong Tamo Extension and EDSA.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the site of an abandoned building right next to the Ecology Village and Dasmariñas Village. Well, you won’t be seeing it like it was before.

Alphaland acquired the property from the Puyat family last year, and will turn it into an office building with a mall. It will be called the Southgate Tower. The area is very strategic, too, with heavy foot traffic as several offices can also be found along Pasong Tamo, Pasong Tamo extension, and even those in the vicinity of Magallanes Village. Plus, it will be connected to the Magallanes MRT Station.

Let’s wait for its opening soon. Seems like the Metro can’t get enough of malls!

    Good idea, actually! People sometimes prefer that malls are linked to MRTs or LRTs. Makes them more accessible.
  • Petition your City Council to plan for Mass Transit Systems in all major cities outside Metro Manila. this should be done now, while the cities are not yet overbuilt and congested. Then they can build Mass Transit linked malls.
