The Day I Walked Around Binondo
The last time I went to Binondo and walked its streets was when I was still in college. And I tell you, it was a looong time ago. ![]()
Thanks to my blogger-friends, Ric, Melo, Diane, and Bernie, who invited me to come along with them. Knowing that it would be a walking tour, I wore my most comfortable Havaianas.

Business As Usual on the Streets
The other Saturday, August 16th, I joined Ric, Melo, and Diane (and then Bernie with a friend joined us later). We checked out the Salcedo Weekend Market and then Binondo.
Binondo was an experience for me. I was there last ages ago, but the place seemed to have frozen time. It was still the same Binondo I had in mind.
I expected a lazy Saturday without much business going on there. But I was wrong. It was business as usual for the people there. Chinese restos are busy feeding people, and we passed by a rather decrepit barber shop, but it had many customers inside.
I even texted Wizheart and said, “it’s a bustling town!”
